How to read this
- 1 · Current photo — the AI-painted backdrop you have today. Richest look, but it loads over the network — this is the one that failed on your phone twice.
- 2 · CSS scene — drawn by code, zero network, can never fail or white-screen. Lightest (~2KB), instant. Stylized flat look; day/night recoloring is trivial.
- 3 · SVG scene — vector artwork shipped inside the app, zero network, can never fail. More detailed than CSS (trees, mountains, reflections, birds), sharp on every screen, animatable (waves, drifting clouds). More artwork effort up front.
- 4 · VFX scene — everything moves: shimmering water, drifting mist, fireflies/sparkles, pulsing sun glow. Fully code-drawn, zero network, can never fail. Most "alive" feeling; still stylized, not photorealistic; small battery cost while on screen.
Options 2, 3 and 4 kill the white-screen problem permanently — there is no image left to fail. The photo can also stay as an enhancement that fades in on top when it loads.
